Where do you work?
A: I am a Director of Financial Planning and Advice Effectiveness with CIBC.
Why did you want to join the Okanagan College Foundation board?
A: The opportunity to impact change in my community and help to support the students' journey was very appealing to me.
Q: Our mission is to support the transformative power of education. What drives your passion for education?
A: Education and in particular post-secondary education is important to me not just because the applicable skills and knowledge you gain pertaining to your chosen discipline but you also learn to think critically and build relationships.
I myself was reluctant to proceed to post-secondary education after high school because I had started working and was enjoying having a steady income and feeling like an adult.
My parents encouraged me to go back to school and I cannot thank them enough for that. The experiences that I had throughout my time at university inside the classroom and out have shaped and prepared me for success.
Q: What do you hope to achieve in this role?
A: I hope to learn more about the College, the students, our community and hope I can add value to all three.
Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Sushi!
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Travel (hopefully soon!), hiking, biking, and spending time at Big White and the beach.

A: Everything happens for a reason.
