StrongerBC future skills grant

The StrongerBC future skills grant is open to British Columbians aged 19 years or older, regardless of financial need, and covers up to $3,500 per person for eligible skills training at public post-secondary institutions.

The grant will help learners access eligible short-term skills training to further their careers, upgrade their skills and enhance their productivity, giving them access to well-paid, high opportunity occupations.

LPN Orthopaedic Certificate

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) have a learning option for advanced orthopaedic knowledge and skills that keeps them closer to home. The new LPN Orthopaedic Certificate offered at Okanagan College (OC) is the first of its kind in British Columbia.

The online certificate program, which launched in January 2022, increases access to advanced orthopaedic education for nurses throughout the province and minimizes travel requirements.

Trauma-Informed Practice Micro-Credential

This 60-hour micro-credential is designed to provide learners with an understanding of trauma and its impact on individuals and communities. Learners will engage in activities that promote resiliency and personal growth while exploring the critical link between trauma and wellness.

Learning delivery styles

Online synchronous:

This training is like traditional on-campus classes where students must be online in the virtual class during regular class times.

Online asynchronous:

This training allows students to access course materials anytime. Work is designed to encourage virtual interaction with materials and instructor.

Online hybrid:

A combination of online synchronous and asynchronous learning.

Blended:

A combination of face-to-face and any type of online delivery style.

Face-to-face:

Learning occurs in person at a physical location. Campus locations are listed when applicable.
